The nice weather this week has a put the fishing season into full swing.
Trout is now open in the tributaries. A lot of anglers are taking advantage of the nice weather and local waters for resident trout like the Grand River and anything flowing off the great lakes.
The Great Lakes having started to catch fire for big Salmon and Lake trout. Some anglers catching double digits with ease. We have even had our staff catching Salmon from their kayaks. Any shoreline from Hamilton to Niagara have been producing in about 20 to 40 feet of water.
Another great shore/ boat spot for spring time fishing is Lake Erie/ Grand River in Dunnville for big Catfish. Cut bait is the bait of choice for these big beauties. Port Maitland and lower Grand River in Dunnville are a great area.
Pike and Walleye open on May 12 in zone 16 (check the regulations for the specifics) Good luck everyone.
