With the colder temperatures a lot of anglers are getting out ice fishing this week. Here are some highlights from this week.
Bay of Quinte - Walleye are starting to show up. Good size walleye being caught on jigging spoons (buckshots, kastmasters ) and Rapala jigging spoons. Most jigs getting tipped with a minnow. Be careful the ice can change quickly.
On Lake Simcoe - Cooks bay and Gilford area. Good size perch on minnows and maggots keep ya busy all day. A few big pike have been caught as well.
There should be more and more local spots to safely fish this week with this cold snap. Be safe and don't go on the ice if you are not sure it's safe.
